It is possible his name comes from "Julius," of Julius Caesar, who claimed to be related to the Roman goddess Venus, reflecting Julian's astronomy theme. Julian's birthday is also the Ides of March, which was the day Caesar was assassinated. The feminine form of his name in the Japanese version was likely given to emphasize Julian's feminine appearance, though this could also be a reference to Julii, the historical family name of Julius Caesar
