Clay is a brown hamster. He has a rust-colored, raccoon-like mask surrounding his eyes, which are light brown with horizontal pupils. He has swirly, wisp-like eyebrows and three red dots below each eye. His paws and belly are light brown, with a rusty color around the edges. The insides of his ears are bright teal. His design may be a reference to the Japanese "Dogū," clay figurines built in the Jōmon period. Clay initially wears the Uncommon Shirt.
